Earliest meeting: Monday 24th August 1752
Final meeting: Thursday 27th August 1752
The Luttrellstown estate and Castle are located in Clonsilla on the outer edge of Dublin. The Castle dates from the early 15th century, probably being completed in 1420. The estate was owned by the Luttrell family from as early as 1210 and at one point they were the largest landowners in Ireland. In the middle of the 18th century the estate hosted race meetings, the earliest of which was recorded in the Historical List of Races of 1752 and consisted of a 4 day meeting beginning on Monday 24th August 1752. On the opening day the £20 Give and Take was won by Mr William Prior defeating Red Jenny and Gunlet. The four days concluded with the £50 Plate which was won by Arthur Marvin’s Skewball. There are no records of meetings taking place on the estate after this festival.
